The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross residence income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined house revenue isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 nsfas application for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays nsfas status check in the processing of their application.
